Read the true story of Luna, a small mare rescued by The Horse Shelter near Santa Fe. She represents everyone who has ever felt alone, hopeless and unloved. The story tells us that we are all unique and have special talents. Luna's adoptive parent, author Dora Dillistone collaborated with Taos artist Jonathan Warm Day Coming to tell the story of a very special horse. The book has a sky blue silk cover and is beautifully illustrated with Jonathan's paintings. Each copy is autographed by Dora and Jonathan. A portion of every book will be donated to The Horse Shelter to help feed and care for the horses until homes are found for them. Nautilus Book Awards selected Luna, the Mare with the Sky Blue Eyes, as the 2019 International Silver Award Winner in the Children's Illustrated Nonfiction Category. This award focuses on "Better Books for a Better World", books that "point us in the direction of greater wholeness". From Purple Dragonfly Book Awards, Second Place for Children's Nonfiction and Honorable Mention for Pets/Animals Categories.
