22nd Annual Miniatures Show & Sale 2024

WE ARE PLEASED TO PRESENT THE 22ND ANNUAL MINIATURES SHOW & SALE, ON VIEW FROM FEBRUARY 2 THROUGH MARCH 3, 2024 AT THE MILLICENT ROGERS MUSEUM IN TAOS, NEW MEXICO.

The Miniatures Show & Sale began in 2003 as a fundraiser, and as an opportunity to support local artists of Northern New Mexico during the winter season. The Museum receives a range of entries from both up-and-coming, and established artists.

This year continues the tradition with the participation of more than 180 artists, working in a range of mediums and subjects, each contributing one small scale piece. The extraordinary outpouring of creativity from these artists falls into categories of jewelry, two-dimensional, and three-dimensional art. Throughout these works, shared themes of nature, local beauty, and personal expression emerge in the unique style of each artist.

At the Preview Party on February 2nd, 2024, four winners for the Board of Trustees awards were announced. Bonnie Bower-Dennis won Best of 2D for her paper cut piece Spring. Best of 3D was awarded to Carlos Barela for Mermaid, made of warthog bone, stone, and copper. In the Jewelry category, David Anderson won with his ring called Blue Love, made of a 2.60ct fancy cornflower blue natural sapphire, 14tcw SI I (GH) Diamond (24) 14K Pink Gold, and 900 Platinum. Finally, Best in Show was awarded to Wiz Allred for his painting Below The Beaver Dam, in acrylic on canvas.

Following a weekend of voting by visitors to the Museum, the People’s Choice awards were awarded to the following artists. For Best of 2D, Johnathan Warm Day Coming won with his work Taos Pueblo Woman Posing, a colored pencil drawing on 1800's ledger paper.
