Vintage Squash Blossom Necklace with Persian Turquoise
This vintage Navajo squash blossom necklace features large cabochons of Persian turquoise, which was used and prized for its classic turquoise blue color. The piece is likely made of coin silver and has handmade beads. It is not hallmarked, which is not unusual for the time period -- probably the 1930s. The settings for the turquoise are quite elaborate featuring wire designs, silver beads and leaf appliques -- a finely crafted piece. It measures 23" with the naja dropping an additional 3 - 1/2" from the beads.
