The Museum’s staff and volunteers are the life-blood of the Museum. The recruitment and hiring of persons demonstrating the highest qualifications for a position is critically important as is the recruitment of volunteers with applicable experience and a demonstrated interest in the Museum.

Volunteer positions are available in the collection and education departments of the Museum. Collection opportunities include the care and maintenance of permanent exhibitions as well as support – registration, installation; provide assistance with security and/or maintenance chores – of special exhibitions.

Educational volunteers complete an intensive instructional program on the collection to provide tours of adults. School children tours and art related activities surrounding those tours are also provided. Volunteers also assist with public programs and community events.

Internships are available for upper level undergraduate and graduate students during the summer. These positions engage the student in an 8-12 week project with either the Curator of Collections/Exhibitions, the Curator of Education, or with the Marketing Coordinator. No stipend or lodging is provided by the Museum.
